Kristen has been married to Shawn for 19 years. They have four children, Owen, Addie, Emmy, and Evie, whom they currently homeschool. They enjoy adventures of all kinds outdoors in all seasons.

Kristen and Shawn have been leading SHIFT, the youth ministry of CRC, since June 2022. They are passionate about building relationships with students, helping them develop authentic relationships with Jesus, and being secure in their identity in Christ amidst the mixed messages culture throws at them. They enjoy planning and hosting fun events outside of regular Thursday evenings to keep the students connected. They are committed to supporting the students socially, emotionally, and spiritually.  

Kristen has a B.S. in Bible and a B.S. in Social work from Cairn University. Kristen has worked as the Assistant Director of Mental Health Support Services at Access Services, the Executive Director of The Something To Do Foundation, and the Interim Kids Ministry Director for Marsh Creek Community Church. 

Her other ministry-related experiences include foster care coordination, youth ministry volunteering, church outreach large event planning, serving on a church leadership board, and launching Youth Outdoor Expedition. This program takes at-risk youth into the wilderness to offer new experiences and teach valuable skills.
